- Grace likes doing tummy time with Matthew. She also loves playing in her big box/house (which our new water heater came in). Matthew loves it when Grace plays peek-a-boo with him through one of the windows in the box!
- When I went to get Grace out of her crib one morning and started to change her diaper, Grace looked out the window and said, "it is a gorgeous day!"
- This Mother's Day, mommy got a 4 day vacation (coincidentally my 15 year college reunion). I have to admit that I teared up a bit leaving my baby Matthew for the first extended time while Grace and I were ready for a little break (I had to put Grace in timeout 4 times before I departed for the airport). I was also interested to know how Jeff would handle being a full-time dad for those 4 days. Lucky for him, all 4 in-town grandparents voluntarily came at various times to help him with the kids. As for the reunion, the weather was spectacularly gorgeous in southwestern Virginia and my old buddies looked just the same (if not better) than when we did when we were in college! I only wish that I had gotten a bit more sleep. Oh well!
Below are Jeff's contributions to this week's blog:
- Grace negotiated a higher reward for going #2. She asked for 4 M&M's instead of 3. She then went #2 and when collecting herreward, she immediately shared 1 M&M with me.
- This was the first time that Matthew was fed by bottled for several consecutive feedings. He refused to let anyone feed him the bottles (me or any of his grandparents). Instead, he prefered to hold his own bottle and eat in his bouncy chair with his eyes closed. His mommy likes to think he doesn't want to snuggle with anyone but her.
- Grace was in timeout. When I came to get her hout (I was really tired), I put my head on the crib in front of Grace's face. She quickly grabbed my face with her hands andsaid, "Look me in the eye Dada!"
