- I went to check on Grace to get her out of time out and I had a hard time not laughing...she had managed to pull her bouncy horse (Rody) into her crib and was bouncing on it...not bad entertainment for being punished!
- Matthew finally rolled over from his back to his tummy this week! Now he's doing it all the time.
- Grace went fishing for the first time with Dada and 3 of her 4 grandparents last weekend. She didn't catch a fish, but Grandmommy Lisa did (smaller than an adult's hand) and let her touch it. She was scared when it flopped around, but later said it "tickled" her hand.
- I've been bad about introducing new foods to Matthew. This week I decided to try pears. He wasn't happy about the canned variety, but when I gave him a piece of my comice pear from New Zealand ($2.50/lb) he loved it! Looks like I might have another foodie on my hands! (Grace is the only 2 year old I know who doesn't like mac & cheese.)
- The "ghetto" Kroger by our house has been under rennovation for several months now which is very exciting! This week I was chatting with a butcher and Grace eventually interrupted and said, "Mama done talking." With that we ended our conversation!
- I found Matthew on his tummy one morning for the first time this week. He looked so pleased!
- Grace cleaned up Matthew's spit up when they were playing one morning! She's going to be a good mommy one day!
- Since Matthew has about mastered sitting up, he's graduated from using the baby tub and is now sitting in the big tub on a no slip mat! He's already having more fun splashing the water with his hands.
- Grace said, "You're a big kid Dada!"
- This isn't new, but I don't want to forget it...Grace calls her peanut butter and jelly sandwiches "jelly butter."
- After finding that time out was not sufficient for certain behaviors with Grace, I've decided to try out putting certain favorite toys in "time out" until the next day. We'll see if it works or not!
- One of the bad behaviors we're addressing with Grace is screaming inside (the house and the car). The screaming continued even when Grace's toys went in time out, so I tried something different. I took Grace outside to scream. Mommy screamed too (which made Matthew cry). After that, she didn't scream the rest of the day!
- Grace continues to mother her stuffed animals regularly. One new thing I've noticed is when she tucks them in for bed or a nap she says, "I love you."
