The last month of summer

I've been remiss in keeping up the blog this last month because I've been at home with both kids full time (as in no summer camp or school for Grace). My goals for this month (besides maintaining my sanity) have been 1) to potty train Grace, 2) get her more confident in the pool, 3) get Matthew baptized, and 4) get Matthew to take at least one regular nap a day. I'm happy to say that we've accomplished all 4!

Except for naps and nights, Grace is wearing big girl underwear and is very good about telling us when she needs to go potty.

Grace has been taking an intense 2 week swim class (10 lessons total) and loves the water, her instructor and classmates.

Matthew's baptism was a grand celebration and he didn't even cry when he was doused with water.

Thanks to Grace's swim schedule, Matthew has been falling asleep on the way home and taking a good 1hr nap, even in his bed on the weekend!

Here are a few other highlights:

-Matthew's baptism was a truly joyous occasion, surrounded by family and close friends. 8/19

-Grace took her unofficial first communion when she stuck out her hands and the priest put a wafer in them. 8/19

-One day when I was getting Grace dressed after swimming, I turned to find Matthew standing up in his stroller! I know, you should always buckle them in, but it was just 1 second! 8/21

- Graces's first day of swim class, she was not thrilled about my not being with her in the water and she later told me that she had pinched the instructor. She apologized the next day. 8/20

- At the end of her 4th swimming class, Grace wanted to say goodbye and blow a kiss to her teacher, Ms. Amanda!

- Matthew's menu of foods is quickly expanding, but if we ever have trouble getting him to eat something, we just stick a Cheerio on top and he'll open his mouth and eat it!

- Grace wanted to give our AC repair guy a hug and kiss!

- Each morning Grace selects the flavor of jelly she wants on her bread. Today it was jalapeno!
