Look out Big Sister

- I found Matthew sleeping on his stomach for the first time.

- When I asked Grace to apologize to Matthew she said, "I'm sorry Matthew. Look at me in the eyes."

- Some of Matthew's favorite toys are rattles. He also loves hitting two stacking cups together.

- I trimmed Grace's hair myself for the first time this week...just an inch or so off the back. Now instead of two long curls hanging back there, it's a whole crop of short curls!

- Matthew has been able to sit and play for several weeks now. He's starting to get curious and explore more but gets frustrated when he gets on his tummy and can only push himself backwards.

- Grace decided she wanted Matthew to stand up. So when no one was looking she hooked her arm around his neck and stood up! Needless to say, it scared me and made her Daddy furious. Surprisingly, Matthew was unphased. She spent the next 5-10 minutes in time out.

- Grace calls antibacterial foam/gel "dog soap." I think this is because the first time she used it was after getting a tiny dog bite.

- Matthew cries every time we step into Grace's school building. I think he's worried that he's going to be dropped off for school too.

- If I'd let her, Grace would pump tons of hand soap into her hands every time she washes her hands. So, I started saying, "A little dab'll do ya!". Now every time she squirts soap in her hands she says, "A little dab'll do ya!".

- When I go grocery shopping with Grace, there are two things we do as a reward for behaving well during the trip. First, we go say hello to the lobsters. Second, we go give Ms. M&M a high five (a plastic display that's about 3 feet tall). This has made grocery shopping with both kids actually enjoyable!

- Grace now helps Mommy put groceries away and already knows where a lot of things go without my telling her.

- Matthew is growing so fast. His favorite solid food so far is ripe and sweet texas peaches. He also now likes rice cereal, sweet potatoes, carrots, green peas, green beans, broccoli. He also loves Cheerios.

- For the first time, we noticed Matthew competing with Grace for attention from Daddy when he got home from work. He is no longer content watching Jeff toss Grace in the air while he sits quietly in his chair. Look out Big Sister!

- This week at the dinner table, Grace told Daddy about her day for the first time, such that Daddy could understand it. Paraphrased: "Gracie went to church. Had music class with Gail (a friend). Saw big fishy (art sculpture from kids at church)."
