- I encountered a most unique negotiation this week. I told Grace that if she kept her fingers out of her dirty diaper that she could look at her poop! (She's been wanting to inspect all of her soiled diapers lately. Perhaps potty training is in the near future?)
- Grace's pretend play continues to grow. This week she was "pumping" (pretend breast milk) into empty vitamin bottles!
- Before bathtime, Grace again had success using her potty. As she flushed the toilet she said, "Bye bye my pee pee!"
- In addition to the occasional success with pre-bath potty use, Grace proactively requested to use the potty one morning. It was quite a bonding moment since Grace wanted use her potty at the same time as mommy was using the big potty. And she had success!
- One morning while driving in the car, Grace was jabbering away and I hear her say, "Lib(r)ary, blueberry, strawberry"...she recognized words that rhymed!
- Grace identified a "piano song" this week (up 'til this point she called all classical music "violin songs").
- Matthew sat in the double stroller like a big boy (instead of in his car seat)! This made it much easier for Mommy to drive the stroller!
- Matthew swung on the playground swing for the first time next to his big sister!
- Matthew's latest developmental feats are getting his toes in his mouth and raising and lowering his arms repeatedly so he can hit the table!
- You know something interesting is going on when your dinner guest says, "Grace doesn't have any pants on (or diaper)." She had decided that she wanted to use the potty on her own. Thankfully Daddy came to her assistance before she had finished this task. She earned a sticker and returned to playing with her friends!
- Finally, at the end of our weekend, as Grace and I were walking to our car after a birthday party, her diaper dropped off in the middle of the street! I had been anticipating this as she was fiddling with it and had on a dress and no diaper cover. She apparently really wanted her wet diaper to be changed before the short car ride home!
