Jeff and I went on our first vacation without a child since summer 2009 this weekend. It wasn't anything exotic, just a trip to San Antonio during the hottest weekend of the year, but it was still nice to get away, sleep in, and go out to eat at restaurants.
When we arrived home, Grace was still asleep for her nap. When she woke to find Mama there, she stood up and grabbed onto my neck and wouldn't let go for about 5 minutes! This made Daddy a bit jealous and Isa (Grandma Lisa) cry tears of joy. Then, when it was time for Isa and Rex to go home, Grace gave Isa a big hug good-bye and Isa turned her back to all of us to hide her tears...this time because she was going to miss her little granddaughter who she dubbed "Velcro" because she followed her around all weekend!
