Month 11: November 30 – December 29
12/1/10 Chased 1st bug (on the bathroom floor) and tried to squish it with her finger
12/5/10 signed “more”, indicating that she wanted more food!
12/4/10 pulled up to standing position
12/6/10 bit mommy and was put in “time-out”
12/12/10 cut top 2 teeth
12/17/10 signed “milk”, indicating she wanted a bottle; likes to “dance” to music (basically she sways side to side)
12/25/10 signed “food”
12/26/10 stood up in her crib and stood about half of the time she was in her play pen!
Month 12: December 30 – January 29
12/30/10 Stats:
Height: 29 1/4 in
Weight: 21 pounds
1/10/11 signed “book” and started cutting 5th tooth (top left)
1/12/11 brings books to mom to read for her and listens as long as she feels like (and loves turning the pages as usual)
1/13/11 when Grace is reading certain books with Mommy and she gets to a page with something that she really likes on it (like puppies), she will kiss the page!
1/14/11 recognizes words like “milk” and “food” so now we have to spell the words if we don’t want her to know what we are talking about.
1/15/11 throws toys out of playpen to get Mommy’s attention, or just for the fun of it.
Crawls up stairs (spotted by Granddaddy Rex)
1/18/11 began sleeping with a baby pillow (she had not slept well for the previous 2 nights and was taking forever to go to bed when I realized that she wanted the pillow on the rocking chair in bed with her…she loves petting/holding the lace ruffle around the edge). Apparently you call this a transitional object.
1/22/11 ate first pizza (a gourmet pizza from Dolce Vida) and gelato and panna cotta! Also sucked water from a straw in a cup!
1/24/11 drinks whole milk instead of formula now
1/26/11 drinks whole milk using the Nuby straw cup instead of a bottle
1/27/11 can now ride in the car happy without her pacifier (this took a week or two to accomplish)
1/28/11 learned how to blow into a whistle
1/29/11 celebrated her first birthday and ate chicken pie and yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting!
